Seminar Farmers Dialogue against GE Rice held         A farmers dialouge on "Genetically Enginnered Rice : Grace or Curse for Bangladesh" was held in Center for Organic Farming, Boda, Pnachagrh on 13th April, 2008. The Dialogue was jointly organized by HFW, BAPA, Shisuk and PAN AP. Among other Mr. Haripada Kapali the inventor of famous "haridhan" spoke on the occassion. He said, we have many variety of high yeilding variety rice in our country, which if conserved and disseminated among farmers would help the country to achieve sustainable food security. The farmers in the dialogue express their wonder that GE rice would destroy the soveriegnty of farmers on seeds and that would be suicidal for a country like Bangladesh where the small farmers are huge in number and not capable of buying seeds from Company.
